Original
The term original [Latin: "origo" = origin] designates something made or written by an artist or writer, something that is one-off or one-of-a-kind. This might be the first version of a text, book, picture, other work of art, etc, as well as the model (for a painting). In any case the original is something made by the artist himself. Art historians and experts distinguish between original and copy or replica as well as between original and forgery.
