Mixed technique [German: "Mischtechnik"] is a painting technique of combining various binders and pigments. Thus mixed, the media can consist of all sorts of substances. Commonly used media in mixed technique are linseed oil and resin for oil painting as well as gum arabic, chalk and egg yolk for gouache and tempera.
