"Yesterday we visited Heckel and his friend, the dancer Sidi Riha, when we left we had a feeling as if we had just spent time with two children. Wearing a light blue velvet dress, the small dancer sat in the humble attic chamber, wearing lovely silver braces Heckel had made for her. Maria crashed on a makeshift chair; overall, we both felt like clumsy bears up there."
Franz Marc to Wassily Kandinsky, January 18/19, 1912, quote from: Andreas Hünecke, Erich Heckel, vol. I, p. 217.
