Waldemar Rösler
Biography
In 1882, the painter Waldemar Rösler was born in Saxony (Striesen). He was a close friend of Max Liebermann throughout his whole life. Oda Hardt-Rösler, his wife, was one of the very few women at the Königsberger Kunstakademie at that time. Waldemar Rösler was a member and chairman of the Berlin Secession. During the Nazi period Rösler's works were stigmatized as degenerated art. In 1916 Waldemar Rösler committed suicide.
