* 1952 Columbus
Ford Beckman was born in Columbus, Ohio in 1952. He mainly got famous for his "Black wall painting" and his "Pop Paintings" in which he overpainted or collaged screenprints of clowns. The main issue in Beckman's work is the image of human relativity between life, disappearance and hope. In 1991 Beckman changed his artistic concept. He started to work on abstract projects by using the colors yellow, black and white but without forcing them into geometric shapes. The colors were dropped on canvas and thus shapes were created which dynamically spread out on every point in a painting. Beckman lives in New York and new Canaan, Connecticut.
