[translation of quote: 1957 marks the beginning of a great adventure. Erni accepts the offer to illustrate the Odyssey, which will be published in three monumental folio vols. by his friend Gonin, who is full of ambitions and determined to succeed. The artist creates dozens of illustrations, of which several are fullpage, also decorative initials for each chapter's beginning. A complex task that Erni manages in a short time, as he is fully focussed on the result. (Giroud). - Spine of vol. III somewhat stained, inside edge of slipcase of vol. II somewhat loosened.
