Giorgio Morandi's view from his studio's window looked over the Appenine mountain village of Grizzana, today named Grizzana-Morandi. Resembling a still life, the artist composes the landscape of geometric forms. This way art becomes an expression of the perfect harmony beyond the visible reality. In his days Giorgio Morandi took the art of etching to new levels and was honored with a professorship for etching at the Accademia di Belle Arti in Bologna.
