Schwedische Landschaft. Wohl um 1941. Oil on fibreboard. Not in Krausse. Signed upper right. Dated and inscribed on verso by a hand other than that of the artist. 40.5 x 60.7 cm (15.9 x 23.8 in).
According to the kind information supplied by Dr. Anna-Carola Krausse, Berlin, this work is authentic.
While in exile in Sweden, Lotte Laserstein examined the nature of her new country of residence. This genre allowed more artistic freedom than her portray commissions. Our picture shows a ladnscape just the way she loved it: "[..] in the evening, when the colors become soft and full and the dislikable green almost disappears."(quote after: Anna-Carola Krausse, Lotte Laserstein. Leben und Werk, Berlin 2006, p. 259)
