The painter and installation artist Michael Laube studied painting at the Berlin 'Hochschule der Künste' from 1986 to 1995. He was master student of Georg Baselitz. When he was a student he received the Prize of the Darmstadt Secession for young art in 1989. With his plexiglass works Laube transferred the traditional 2-dimensional color field painting to three-dimensional realms and creates new visual experience: The color fields on the transparent discs shift optically as soon as the perspective changes, so that ever new pictures come into being.
