Upper left monogrammed (in ligature) and dated. With an ownership note and the inscription "Sg ng 54" on the reverse. 15.9 x 15 cm (6.2 x 5.9 in).

PROVENANCE: Ella Geißler-Thoma Collection, Karlsruhe/Berlin ( inherited from the artist in 1924).
Oberquell Castle, Glogau/Silesia ( evacuated from the possession of the aforementioned to protect from war damages, 18.9.1944-1945).
Soviet state property (looted by the Red Army, 1945 - December 19, 1953).
State Museums in Berlin, Nationalgalerie, East Berlin (obtained as "gift of friendship from the Polish people to the German people" on December 19, 1953, until 1993).
Restitution by the above to the heirs of Hans Thoma.
Private collection Baden-Württemberg.
