• Alighiero e Boetti, one of the most influential Italian artists, was a co-founder of Arte Povera in the 1960s.
• The tapestries embroidered with letters are among Boetti's most famous works.
• In 1971, the artist went on a trip to Afghanistan, where he found inspiration in the textile work of the local women
