Cast by H. Noack, Berlin.

It is René Sintenis‘ intention to illustrate the positive characteristics of animals, those that man his lost through socialization: "There is one thing I learned about animals: Every animal should be seen in its very own beauty, only then can we give them fulfillment of existence, the luck of their life, the blessedness (sic!) of life that we seem to have lost or that we cannot sense any longer." (Transl. Of quote from: Britta E. Buhlmann, Renée Sintenis, Darmstadt 1987, p. 53). With their small sizes the artist’s sculptures invite the observer to take a closer look, to study the animal figures intensively, to admire them, for it is the sensual perception that occupies an important position in the artist’s work.
