Only edition, rare. - The physician and artist Ludwig Ferdinand Prinz of Bavariay (1859-1949) was a grandson of Ludwig I. of Bavaria; he studied medicin in Heidelberg and Munich and received a doctorate with this work. The works covers the tongues of fish, amphibia and reptiles, birds as well as mammals; with index of literature and plate explanations at the end. Lithographs printed by Joh. Roth, Munich. - Binding somewhat detached and with traces of scrapings, else mostly clean and well-preserved. Copy from the old Landes-Impf-Anstalt (State Vaccination Institute) Munich (multiple stamped).
