Bronze with brown patina.
With name, inscription "EA", title and foundry mark "Schmäke Düsseldorf". Artist's proof aside from the edititon of probably 65. 38,5 x 14 x 6,7 cm (15,1 x 5,5 x 2,6 in).
Cast from 2003.

The artist makes this bronze in a period of deep depression in 1968. To comfort himself he creates a flower with a caterpillar ascending to the blossom. The caterpillar as a pre-stage to the butterfly symbolises transition and hope for Immendorf. The edition of this bronze was made for ther benefit of the aid organization "Doctors Without Borders" in 2003. [NB]
