• Fascinating dynamic achieved with a maximum reduction of painterly means.
• In the second half of the 1960s, Girke attained his strictly horizontal stripe paintings through the optical movement of the black and white "Fluktuationen".
• In 2022, the MKM Museum Küppersmühle, Duisburg, honored Girke with a major retrospective titled "Raimund Girke. Klang der Stille" (Sound of Silence).
