Verso with several numbers in pencil and with an export stamp of the Czech National Gallery, Prague. On brownish wove paper (with the watermark "G L Ullersdorf"). 45 x 35.5 cm (17.7 x 13.9 in), size of sheet.

• Portrait of Olda Palkovská, doctor of law and lifelong companion, since 1941 wife of the artist.
• In 1938, Olda organized their escape from the Nazi regime to London.
• At the beginning of the 1950s, the couple settled on Lake Geneva.
• Oskar Kokoschka is one of the most important expressionists and is a particularly outstanding portraitist

In good condition. Single small tears in the edges, the largest of which approx. 1 cm. Slight handling creases in the sheet edges. The upper edge with paper mounting on firm Ingres laid paper by Arches (with watermark). Sheet slightly sunned in outermost edges and unobtrusively browned in mount section.
