• Léger created his unmistakable formal language between figuration and abstraction.
• In 1940, before emigrating to the USA, Léger worked on the motif of the "Plongeurs" (divers) in Marseille, at the same time he processed post-Cubist influences through African masks.
• In 1942 he took part in the important exhibition "Artists in Exile" at the Pierre Matisse Gallery in New York.
• Léger's works are represented in the most important international collections, among them the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Musée National d'Art Moderne/Centre Georges Pompidou, Paris, and Tate Gallery, London
.

With a certificate of authenticity issued by Georges Bauquier, former director of the Musée National Fernand Léger, Biot, from October 9, 1992 pasted on the reverse, with several stamps of the Musée National Fernand Léger.

Private collection Lower Saxony (acquired in 1993).
