• Expressive and futuristic townscape.
• The auto-didact Richard Ziegler attained his signature style on journeys through Italy in the 1920s.
• Richard Ziegler soon joined the Berlin avant-garde and showed works with Dix and Grosz in the "Novembergruppe" of which he became a member in 1925.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Hesse (acquired in 2005).
LITERATURE: Nagel Auktionen, Stuttgart, October 15, 2005, lot 663 (with illu.).
In good condition. Laid on backing sheet in places of upper margin. Margins slightly wavy.
