• Atmospheric maritime depiction of the Holstein landscape near the border to Denmark, which Nolde treasured so much
• Notable provenance: Collection Carl Georg Heise (1890•1979), director of St.•Annen•Museum in Lübeck (1920-1933) and the Hamburg Kunsthalle (1945•1955), patron and friend of Emil Nolde.
Accompanied by a photo expertise issued by Prof. Dr. Manfred Reuther on June 11, 2020. The watercolor is registered at the Archive Reuther with the number "Nolde A - 175/2020".
PROVENANCE: Collection Carl Georg Heise, Lübeck/Hamburg (1922 as present from the artist on occasion of the wedding of Carl Georg Heises and Hildegard Neumann).
