Signed lower right, inscribed upper right in the image. On yellowish Japon, firmly mounted at points on glassine paper. 33 : 47,3 cm (12,9 : 18,6 in). Sheet: 33 x 48,5 cm (12,9 x 19 in). From 1917 Moriz Melzer engaged with Expressionism and Cubism. He was a co-founder of the “November Group” in 1918 and by 1922 he was chairman of it. Most of Melzer’s work was done in the 1920s and it featured Biblical and mythological scenes. [NB]
