Johannes Zehngraf was head of the department of "miniature painting" at Carl Fabergé in the days around 1898. There he made, among others, the miniatures on the Imperial Lilly of the Valley Egg from 1898, a present that Tsar Nicolas II gave to his mother. He also made a series of eleven miniatures of members of the Danish court.
Johann Viktor Aarne (1863 - 1943) initially learned the trade of a goldsmith in his hometown Tampere in Finland. From 1880 to 1890 he worked for Fabergé. He took the examination for his master's certificate in Tampere in 1890 and returned to St. Petersburg in 1891, where he ran his own workshop until 1904. According to Dr. Geza von Habsburg, Aarne's objects are of very high quality. Additionally, Aarne is renowned for his miniature frames
