• From 1959 to 1961 Marc Chagall illustrated the ancient, bucolic tale of Daphnis and Chloé by Longus for Tériade.
• Central scene of the bucolic sequence of images in which the god of love Eros appears to the old shepherd Philétas and proclaims the love of Daphnis and Chloe.
