Signed and dated lower right. With inscription "Lupow-Mündung 930/II" on verso. On creme wove paper. 49,2 x 62 cm (19,3 x 24,4 in), the full sheet.
With blindstamp ("G. H. mit Hand und Beil") upper right.
Pechstein spent the summers from 1927 to 1944 in Rowy in Pommerania. The small coastal village is at the mouth of the river Lupow. Together with other artists he found numerous motifs for his paintings and drawings in this idyllic landscape. He mostly depicted dunes and coastal landscapes as well as fishermen at work. [CB].
