Graesse IV, 506. - First Amsterdam edition of the multiple published and extended chronic covering the period of the Dutch Revolt. This part covers the period up until 1605. - The nice portrait medallions, each with broad ornamental bordering, show people from European history, the first portrait shows the author. - Lacking the folding map of the Netherlands and the portrait of the Duke of Fuentes, instead the portrait of E. van Ackerens additionally bound in. - Somewhat stained and waterstained in places, 1 l. with rebacked marginal tear, 1 copper with rebacked marginal defects, front inner joint somewhat loosened, title with old ownership entry of the princess Marie Amalie of Nassau Dietz (dated 1744).
