Frühe Beschreibung des neuentdeckten Metalls Platin, das durch Antonio de Ulloas Reisebeschreibung 1748 in Europa bekanntgemacht und von William Watson 1750 erstmals als eigenständiges Metall erkannt wurde. - Fehlt das Widmungsbl. zu Beginn (S. V/VI), durch Faksimile auf altem Papier unauffällig ersetzt. - Rücken am ob. Kap. restauriert. Schönes Exemplar aus einer Adelsbibliothek, Vortitel und Titel mit gekröntem Monogrammstempel "MA".
Only edition of this early work on platinum, which was first described by William Watson in 1750. Very scarce. With 1 folding table. Contemp. calf with label and gilt spine. - Lacking pp. V/VI (dedication), skilfully replaced by facsimile on old paper. Upper spine end restored. Fine copy from an noble library with crowned monogram stamp to title and half-title.
