Erste Ausgabe. - Schönes großformatiges Werk zu römischen Triumphbogen, Reliefs und Münzen (darunter Konstantinbogen, Titusbogen und der Septimus-Severus-Bogen) etc. Der vierseitige Text von J. M. Suarez beschreibt den Bogen des Septimus Severus. Die großformatigen Tafeln wurden meist von Pietro Santo Bartoli (1635-1700) entworfen und gestochen. Das von Lucatellus entworfene Porträt zeigt den Kardinal Pietro Ottoboni in einem ovalen Rahmen umgeben von barocken allegor. Figuren und Putten. Folio. 6 ll. - Title and text ll. somewhat foxed, plates somewhat foxed in outer right margin, as well as slightly soiled (mostly in lower margin), 3 plates with creasemarks, 2 plates with small wormtraces, 1 plate with small marginal tear, endpapers and rear pastedown stamped. Edges and spine (especially to spine ends) with mended blemishes and small mended spots to covering. Despite the small blemishes an overall fine copy.
