Kritter/Zelinsky I, 68 (on the new edition from 1984). - 1 of 100 numb. copies from the de-luxe edition, very rare! - De-luxe edition of the famous so-called 'Jewelry Kalevala' (Koru-Kalevala ), main work of illustrations by the Finnish artist Akseli Gallen-Kallela (1865-1931), "Finland's most important national-romantic poet" (translation of quote from U. von Kritter). - This de-luxe print of his 'Jewelry Kalevala' was first released in Porvoo in 1922. Broad-margined print on better creme paper; each page with fine bordering line, text in black on dark beige background, adorned with decorative initials in black and red all the way through, paginated in red. A new edition of this rare publication was first released in 1984, also by W. Söderström (cf. Kritter/Zelinsky). - Binding slightly stained in places, edges rubbed; else fine and clean copy.
