Mandach 51. Signed and dated. Monogrammed and once more dated in the stone. On firm wove paper. 33 x 34 cm (12.9 x 13.3 in). Sheet: 60 x 43,8 cm (23,6 x 17,2 in).
The work is registered in the Hermann Gerlinger Collection with the number SHG 883d. [AR].
• Allegory of art.
• In 1912/13, Cuno Amiet conceived the motifs "Kunst" and "Wahrheit" for the loggia of the Kunsthaus Zürich.
• The board of directors decided in favor of a different work, the seven-part cycle "Jungbrunnen".
• From the collection of Edith Kottmann, whom the artist portrayed on several occasions.
PROVENANCE: Collection Edith Kottmann, Solothurn (with the ownership note on the reverse).
Hermann Gerlinger Collection, Würzburg (with the collector's stamp, Lugt 6032).
