[transl.:"instantly becoming a best-seller and one the most important early books on China."] (Walravens, China illustrata p. 86). - Contains numerous passages on America. "It contains an itinerary of the New World occupying several chapters, in which are accounts of Cuba, Mexico, and New Mexico, given by various missionaries who had visited those places." (Church 134) - First and last ll. with restored marginal defects (some loss of printed matter), slightly stained in places, 1 l. with tear. Endpapers renewed, Binding mended in places. All in all fine copy.
Scarce first Italian edition of this important book on China. Contains also chapters on America. Contemp. limp vellum (repaired). - First and last leaves with restored defective spots (minor loss of letters), partly minor spotting, 1 leaf with tear, endpapers renewed. Else good copy.
