Beauty and perfection are the two words describing Atchugarrys fragile creations. Nothing illustrates better the enormous effort he employs to produce them or the hardness of the material used for these amorphous masterworks. Based on the soft white of the Carrara marble, the material'shardness and smoothness, Atchugarry also developed our slender, diaphanous object. The whole shaping as well as the silky soft surface hold feminine associations. In the marble from Carrara the artist found his characteristic material, the one he prefers to work with. Not least for this reason he spends half of the year in Lecco, Italy, and the rest of the time in his homeland Uruguay.
