Ebner/Gabelmann 757 H. Dube H 323. Signed and dated. One of to date 13 known copies. On wove paper. 47.5 x 37.5 cm (18.7 x 14.7 in). Sheet: 61, x 48,3 cm (24 x 19 in).
The work shows Siddi Heckel in the Osterholz studio. In the background we see the large-format sunflowers that used to be part of the today destroyed mural. The painting shows a figurative mural in right background (cf. Andreas Hüneke, Erich Heckel. Werkverzeichnis der Gemälde, Wandbilder und Skulpturen, vol. II, Munich 2017, pp. 421-423). [AW].
• Intimate depiction of the artist's partner, Milda Frieda Georgi (1891-1982), who performs as a dancer under the stage name "Siddi Riha" and whom Heckel married a few years earlier, during the war.
• Other copies of the sheet can be found in the Brücke Museum, Berlin, the Chemnitz Art Collections and the Museum Kunstpalast Düsseldorf, among others.
• From the renowned Landmann Collection, Canada.
