Good overall impression. Tiny margin blemishes. Stretcher softly pushing through. Mainly on the sky retouched. Slight craquelé.

Signed lower centre. Titled and with inscription "F. Biringer Ffm Höchst" on the stretcher. 67,5 : 49,5 cm (26,5 : 19,4 in). After studying at the Applied Arts School and the Städelsche Art Institute in Frankfurt, Richard Biringer moved into a studio of his own in Höchst. Industrial landscapes, empty of people and monumental, figure prominently in his work. Biringer demonstrates a style moderately adapted to New Objectivity in the present painting. [HL]
