In good condition, colours still fresh. With minor craquelé, partially more obvious. Minimally shop-soiled.
Oil in strongly pastose painting technique on canvas.
Signed lower right. 72,3 : 66,3 cm (28,4 : 26,1 in). Heinz Porep, a painter and scene painter, at first studied in Munich with Heinrich Knirr, later with Albin Egger-Lienz and Walther Klemm in Weimar. After travelling to Mexico to study the art there, Porep settled in Baden-Baden. Heinz Porep’s œuvre comprises figurative work, landscapes and still lifes. The spontaneous handling and freshness of our spring landscape make it an appealing work in the German Late Impressionist tradition. [KD]
