Darstellung von Nord- und Südamerika in Globalprojektion, mit der Antarktis als ausgedehnter Landmasse. In den Ecken drei kl. Nebenkarten von Haiti, Kuba und dem Golf von Mexiko sowie die Titelkartusche, die Zwischenräume reich ausgeschmückt mit floralem Rankenwerk. Vo. französ. Text. - Ein winziger Eiriß im linken Rand. Mit geglätteten Quetschspuren entlang der Mittelfalte.
Probably the only known map published by Michael Mercator. Splendid full colour map of North and South America in global projection, showing the antarctic continent as huge landmass. In the corners with inset maps of Haiti, Cuba and the Golf of Mexico, the spaces embellished with floral elements. French text on verso. - A tiny tear in the left margin. With smoothed printer's creases along the centrefold.
