The work is registered in the Hermann Gerlinger Collection with the number SHG 879a. [AR].

• Instead of the pipe, his trademark, he shows himself with a bird.
• Famous self-portraits are in, among others, the Bayerische Staatsgemäldesammlungen, Munich, and the Staatliche Museen zu Berlin.
PROVENANCE: Hermann Gerlinger Collection, Würzburg (with the collector's stamp, Lugt 6032).
In good condition. Sheet very slightly wavy and with small handling marks. White margins with isolated traces from the making and a small split in the right margin (ca. 0,5 cm).
