Ebner/Gabelmann 521 R. Dube R 96. Signed, dated and titled. Monogrammed in printing block. From an edition of 20 known copies. On Fabriano wove paper (with watermark). 19.7 x 24.7 cm (7.7 x 9.7 in). Sheet: 32,1 x 42,4 cm (12,7 x 16,6 in).

• Heckel rendered this landscape depiction with a few virtuoso lines.
• The motif was made during Kirchner's and Heckel's last stay at the Moritzburg Ponds.
• In course of the "Brücke" artist's stays at the Moritzburg Ponds (1909–1911) particularly innovative and expressive works that were seminal for Expressionism came into existence.
• Other copies of this print are in the Staatsgalerie Stuttgart, the Staatliche Kunsthalle, Karlsruhe, and the Städel Museum, Frankfurt a. Main.
PROVENANCE: Hermann Gerlinger Collection, Würzburg (with the collector's stamp, Lugt 6032).
