The work shows the Flensburg Bay. [AW].
• The depiction of the same motif in different artistic media is characteristic of Erich Heckel's work.
• The motif is taken up in the painting "Herbstlandschaft (Fördelandschaft)" and in a painting in his estate.
• A print of this etching is in the collection of the Museum of Modern Art, New York.
PROVENANCE: Private collection North Rhine-Westphalia.
Good overall impression. Overall browned, more so within the mount. Inside and outside the image with brownish stains. The two left and the upper right corners of the sheet each with professionally backed tears and paper losses.
