PROVENANCE: Private collection Northernm Germany.
After an initial realistic period, followed by an expressionistic phase, Ludwig Schwarzer eventually attained his own style by combining surrealistic motifs with a Trompe l´œil illusionism. A first solo show in Munich in 1966 was followed by numerous exhibitions, among other in Viena, Linz, Salzburg and Düsseldorf. [DB].
