Very nice color chalk drawing of an ancient motif in a confident line handling. The drawing was made after a sculpture in the Athens NAtional Museum, which Kokoschka visited while on a journey in late fall in 1961. In the following he also made 2 lithographs with the same title, released in the portfolio "Bekenntnis zu Hellas", published by Marlborough Fine Art Ltd., London 1964 (cf. Wingler/Welz 251 and 264).
