• Trier was a protagonist of the Munich artist group "ZEN 49"
• As an importrant representative of Informalism, he showed works at documenta I, II and III in 1955, 1959 and 1964.
• His works are in the Berlinische Galerie, the Museum Folkwang, Essen and the Museum Ludwig, Cologne.
