• His wife Siddi is a key motif in his creation: he depicted her unobserved, reading, sleeping or writing with an intimate look
• Characteristic example of Heckel's style with pointed angles and complex spatial structures.
The work is registered in the Erich Heckel Estate, Hemmenhofen on Lake Constance. We are grateful to Mrs Renate Ebner and Mr Hans Geissler for the kind support in cataloging this lot.
