Degenhart. - Deutsche Künstler des 20. Jahrhunderts. - Collection of ca. 400 letters and cards to the art historian Bernhard Degenhart , among them ca. 110 orig. prints and 60 orig. drawings . Mostly from 1950 to 1990. 8vo. and 4to.

Considerable collection of letters from the estate of the art historian Bernhard Degenhart (1907-1999), who was in close personal contact with many artists from the post-war era. Besides greeting cards for various occasions, the collection also comprises reports and some very realistic descriptions of almost all aspects of artistic creation, thus offering interesting insight in the art scene of the 60s and 70s. The collection is of particular relevance for the mostly signed prints and drawings, many of them printed separately on quality paper. Contains works by: Albrecht von Hancke, Otmar Alt, Eduard Bargheer, Fritz Baumgartner, Karl Bohrmann, Wolfgang Braunfels, Wolf Buchholz, Karl Fred Dahmen, Hans Dumler, Paul Eliasberg, Harald Genzmer, HAP Grieshaber, Fritz Harnest, Hans Hartung, Erich Heckel, Asger Jorn, Günther Knipp, Heinz Knoke, Kuno Küster, Marianne Lautensack, Herbert Peters, Karl Rössing, Armin Sandig, Eberhard Schlotter, Rudolf Schoofs, Eugen Sporer, Herbert Teuber, Ekkehart Thieme, Ernst Weil, Conrad Westphal, Hans Wimmer, Karl Wünsche, Peter Zeiler, Helmut Zimmermann, Mac Zimmermann et al. - Also containing writings by the following artists and writers: Heimito von Doderer, Franz Prinz von Bayern, Max Jacob Friedlaender, Ernst Geitlinger, Werner Gilles, Bernhard Heiliger, Hans Egon Holthusen, Emil Preetorius, Eugen Roth, Willibald Sauerländer and Heinz Trökes.
