Lower right monogrammed and dated. Inscribed "November" on the reverse of the upper margin. On watercolor paper. 22.7 x 28.8 cm (8.9 x 11.3 in), size of sheet. [JS].

• From a series of small watercolors from the early 1950s in which Dix captured the color and light amtmosphere of the seasons on Lake Constance in .
PROVENANCE: Private collection Southern Germany (presumably directly from the artist).
Private collection Hesse (from the above in 2009).
LITERATURE: Suse Pfäffle, Otto Dix. Werkverzeichnis der Aquarelle und Gouachen, Stuttgart 1991, no. A 1953/31 (fig.).
Good overall impression. Browned, image bordered in light chalks. Corners with faint isolated kinks and with vertical crimped spots in upper margin.
