• During the summers from 1920 to 1922, Max Kaus and his wife lived in a small hut on the steep coast of the island of Hiddensee
• The impressive Baltic Sea landscape inspired the artist to create colorful watercolors like this one
• In the year 1920, Max Kaus met Otto Mueller and Karl Schmidt-Rottluff at the Free Secession, regular exhibitions followed.
