Signed, dated and titled "Kopf im Profil". On laid paper. 21.2 x 15.4 cm (8.3 x 6 in). Sheet: 35 x 23,3 cm (13,7 x 9,1 in).

• One of the first woodcuts by the then still young artist.
• From the time shortly after the founding of "Die Brücke" in Dresden.
• Depicted is Prof. Dr. med. A. E. Thiele (1867-1933), a passive member of the "Brücke" since 1906.
• Extremely rare, early print.
PROVENANCE: Hermann Gerlinger Collection, Würzburg (with the collector's stamp, Lugt 6032).
