Splendid copy of the atlas with the maps in fine contemp. coloring. - Contains a celestial map and a world map, each in two hemispheres, with further small globes, map of the four continents as well as full and partial maps of France, Italy, Germany, Switzerland, Spain, Balkans, Great Britain, Netherlands, Scandinavia, also of Russia and the Holy Land. Maps printed on strong laid paper and mostly with large figurative title cartouche and partly with small insets with city maps or views. The copper plate shows terrestrial and celestial globe as well as an armillary sphere. At beginning with decorative title 'Atlas novus' (with illustration of a globe, with a crowned female figure seated on top, surrounded by figurative allegories), bound before the Seutter atlases, regardless of the differing arrangement of the maps; however, printing title lacking here. - Margin slightly stained in places, ca. 7 maps with narrow water-margin, ca. 11 maps with small split in lower margin or folding, there partly cropped close to image, endpapers renewed. All in all very clean and well preserved copy. Binding scraped, lower spine end restored.
