• Beginning in the 1980s, Koening dedicated his work to transience, creating his famous epitaphs and the "Icarus" group.
• Homage to the ingenious engineer and tragic visionary of ancient mythology.
• Koenig's sculptures are in many important collections, among them the Museum of Modern Art, New York, the Guggenheim Collection, Venice, and the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich.
