• While Schmidt-Rottluff's works on paper have been dominated by the technique of watercolor since the years of the "Brücke", the artist chose a powerful and dynamic coloration in color chalks, which gives the seascape an airy and agitated character.
• Schmidt-Rottluff's sensitivity for the relationship between painted and unpainted surfaces, which he combines into a symbiotic unity in our luminous landscape composition, is outstanding.

In good condition. With faint isolated rubbings and faintly discolored margins and in corners from former mounting.
