Signed and dated in lower right, titled in bottom center. On turquoise cardboard. 67.8 x 47.9 cm (26.6 x 18.8 in), size of sheet. [AM].
• Suggestive fire gouache in intensive colors.
• No other artist put such strong focus on light, fire and smoke in his oeuvre than the great "ZERO" protagonist Otto Piene.
• Starting in 1959 with his smoke paintings and drawings, Piene integrated the element fire in his highly innovative creation.
• Privately-owned since it was made.
PROVENANCE: Private collection Europe (acquired from the artist in 1976).
In good condition, with strong colors. Edges unobtrusively rubbed in places and with very few tiny color losses. Margins with isolated, minimally soiled spots, presumbaly from the making. Upper right margin with a small brownish spot.
