• From the work series "Cosmos", in which Zimmer processed his impressions of a trip to the southern hemisphere and his observation of the night sky in expressive-abstract paintings.
• Similar works from the same year are at, among others, the Pinakothek der Moderne, Munich.
• Paintings by the artist are at museums like the Berlinische Galerie, the Kunsthalle Bremen, the Busch-Reisinger Museum / Harvard Art Museums, Cambridge (Mass.), the Groninger Museum, the Museum Folkwang, Essen, and the Städel Museum, Frankfurt/Main.
